To The Community of Warren County:
As I start my first year as President of WCYBL, I wanted to thank all of the current board members and prior board members for the success of our basketball program. It takes many hours of hard work and dedication to oversee the entire organization. I am excited this year to announce some new changes to our league. In an effort to make it easier for families to register, we decided to start warrencountybasketball.com. Our new website will allow families to register online along with up to date basketball news in our community. In addition, you will be able to purchase clothing apparel from the new WCYBL Fan wear Store. Coaches will be able to access their individual team page, post photos, messages and communicate from their teams’ page on the site. We understand there may be some growing pains with the features, but we feel it will be with worth it in the long run.
After playing six years and coaching twelve in Warren County Youth Basketball I understand the impact you can have on the youth today. I was able to play for individuals who help start WCYBL and have represented the league under some of the best Presidents a youth organization could ask for. It has been a privilege to learn so much about not only coaching basketball but understanding how as coaches you can become such a positive role model for our youth.
Our goal is to develop these children into solid basketball players by teaching them the fundamentals of the game along with sportsmanship, while making sure they are having fun. As President it is my focus to provide each coach the proper resources to develop our children at the best level possible. I ask you, do you want to coach? Do you love the game of basketball? Did you play high school or college basketball? If you answered yes once, then I need you!
You’ll be teaching habits that will stick with these kids for the rest of their lives. You’ll be setting an example and teaching kids lessons about life (good and bad). Kids are impressionable. They pick up on things. You will have an obligation and responsibility to teach them the right things in both basketball and life. Teachers would do anything to get the enthusiasm that you will get from each of your players. They will listen and look up to you. As a coach in WCYBL you will have an amazing opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives.
As a youth basketball coach, you have one of the most important and exciting jobs in our community.
